Compost

I ran out of my potting mix yesterday, and I have 6 plants which need to be put in pots! Unfortunately there aren't many shops in Gibraltar which sell the stuff.  I went to Gibralflora on Monday ... they didn't have any left.  So I went to Morrisons this morning ... nothing!  I'm also waiting for a call from Kitchens Direct, about my Ikea order of growing medium and a couple of other things, but they haven't called yet!  They go to Ikea on Tuesdays, and should have called me today, so I can go and collect my order from the shop, so hopefully tomorrow ...  I've ordered Vaxer medium, which I mix with cactus compost, to add drainage.  I discovered it by accident.  Had no idea what I was ordering, only that it was a "growing medium", and turns out it's pumice!  

So I was going to have to mix the pumice with ordinary "universal" houseplant compost, but then I thought WAIT ...  I never buy a packet of anything, so I thought, maybe I have a little bit of cactus compost somewhere.  And I did ... I have TWO and a bit bags, which should be more than enough to pot up the plants I have, and any others which arrive in the near future!

So, there are advantages to being a hoarder.  😉
